ABOUT THE AUTHOR: KATERINA MUSETTI

Katerina Musetti is an award winning artist, published author and Opera singer. Her love for Juliana jewelry began in Milano, Italy when her voice teacher the late Renata Tebaldi introduced her to the cameo suites and Juliana pieces that are used in the great Opera houses around the world. Today, between her performance schedule, she resides as Artist in Residence at Seton Hill Univeristy and Director of the Opera program. Her work has been featured in many publications including A Passion for Purses by Schiffer Publishing, The Best of Pennsylvania Artists, Adapting Quilt Patterns to Polymer Clay, Belle Armoire Magazine, Haute Handbags, Polymer Cafe, and The Best of America's Artists, to name a few. Her award winning handmade Opera purses and bead-embroidery collars are featured and sold in Museums and Galleries throughout the United States. Her work is influenced by her love for the extravagant designs found in D&E Juliana jewelry.



 

D&E aka Juliana Blue and Gold Balls Demi
D&E aka Juliana demi parure has the brooch and matching earrings.

Brooch has 2 filigree gold balls at the top and 2 at the bottom of a blue faceted oval. At each side there are 5 skinny blue navettes and there are aurora borealis chatons for accent.

The clip earringshave one filigree gold ball outlined with ab chatons at the bottom and the top has 3 skinny blue navettes.

All stones are prong set and the navettes and the oval are all unfoiled and set open back.

The brooch measures 1 7/8 inches X 2 inches and the earrings are 1 1/4 inches X 3/4 inches.

The condition is very good.  

D&E aka Juliana Lilac Givre Demi D&E aka Juliana Lilac Givre Demi has a 5 link bracelet, brooch, and clip earrings.

BROOCH:
Brooch is set with lilac givre teardrop stones surrounding a swirl of pale pink chatons on each side. The center has a wire over with a lilac chaton and 3 pale pink chatons.

The brooch measures 1 1/2 X 2 inches.
The givre sets are unfoiled and set open back.

BRACELET:
Bracelet has 5 links, etched clasp and a safety chain.

Major links are set with 3 givre lilac teardeop stones with a wire over matching the brooch wire over.

Joining links are set with a large pink chaton and there is a lilac chaton set in each clasp.

The bracelet measures 7 1/4 X 3/4 inches.

EARRINGS:
Clip earrings repeat the pattern of the brooch and measure 1 3/8 X3/4 inches.

The settings on all pieces are goldtone and all stones are prong set except the small pink chatons in the swirls.

All givre stones are unfoiled and set open back.

The bracelet shows wear on the back but the other pieces have the normal wear you would expect with the vintage jewelry.

The overall condition is very good.  

D&E Peacock and Black Dangle Bead Demi
D&E aka Juliana Necklace and clip earrings are a combination of topaz, black, amber and peacock beads.

Necklace chain is set with amber chatons and the design is in the center front. Amber chatons and black skinny navettes are on the chain with beads dangling over the design and from the bottom.

Beads are a variety of colors including topaz aurora borealis, peacock, black and black aurora borealis.

Necklace measures 16 inches and the design in the center drops 2 inches.

Clip earrins repeat the pattern of the necklace and measure 1 1/4 X 1/2 inch.

The condition is very good.

All stones are prong set and the condition is very good.  

D&E aka Juliana Falls Dangle Demi Parure Beautiful vintage rhinestone JULIANA demi parure has beautiful fall colors topaz, orange, olivine, tourmaline, aurora borealis, and crystal. There are topaz and goldtone beads that dangle.

Highly sought after color combination on this set.

Condition is very good and all stones are prong set.

The earrings measure 1 7/8" by 1", and the pin 2 3/8" inches.  

D&E aka Juliana Blue,Aqua and Watermelon Demi D&E aka Juliana brooch and clip earrings demi has an oval blue watermelon set in the center outlined with sapphire blue chatons. The next row is a larger loop with the same blue chatons.

The loop ends with 2 flowers with aqua chaton centers and clear aurora borealis chatons for petals. There are teal navettes for leaves. The bottom row is set with aqua chatons endins with blue navettes.

The clip earrings have the blue watermelon oval with blue chatons and one navette on one side.

The brooch measures 2 3/4 X 2 inches and the earrings are 1 1/4 X 5/8 inches.

The condition is very good, all stones are prong set and the navettes are unfoiled and set open back.  

D&E aka Juliana Olivine and Clear UNIQUE Demi
D&E aka Juliana demi has a brooch and matching clip earrings.

Brooch is set with clear unfoiled and set open back diamond shape stones. These are faceted and set pointing up.

Between each clear stone there is a green watermelon rivoli and green navette. The center of the brooch is recessed and there is a larger green watermelon rivoli set in the center.

The clip earrings repeat the pattern of the brooch.

The brooch measures 1 7/8 inches and the earrings are 1 x 3/4 inches.

The setting is goldtone and the condition is very good. All stones are prong set.

The pictures do not do justice to this beautiful demi.

This has been verified as DeLIZZA and Elster by Frank DeLizza.  

D&E aka Juliana Red Brooch/Earrings
D&E aka Juliana demi has goldtone metal.

Brooch has red navettes and a red chaton center outlined with aurora borealis chatons. There are 2 overlay flowers with a red chaton center and 5 ab chaton petals.

The brooch measures 1 1/2 X 2 1/2 inches.

The clip earrings repeat the pattern of the brooch and are 1 inch X 3/4 inch.

All stones are prong set and the condition is very good.

The navettes are unfoiled and set open back.  

D and E aka Juliana Black Brooch and Earrings

D&E aka Juliana demi has a brooch set with black navettes, small chatons and large chaton. All stones are prong set and the setting is gunmetal.

The earrings are set with the same stones and run up the ear.

The brooch measures 2 1/4 x 1 3/4 and the clip earrings are 1 5/8 X 3/4 inches.

The condition is very good.  

D&E aka Juliana Blue and Olive Demi
D&E aka Juliana brooch has a center chaton of blue surrounded with blue aurora borealis chatons.

The next row has blue fan shapes set at the 4 compas points with a row of small ab chatons at the top of each.

At the bottom of the fam shapes there are 2 olive color skinny navettes set to shape a V for the fan point. There is a olive aurora borealis chaton between each of the fan-navette combination.

The clip earrings repeat the pattern of the brooch.

All stones are prong set and the metal is goldtone. The fans and navettes are unfoiled and set open back.

The brooch measures 2 3/8 inches and there is a loop so it can also be worn as a pendant. The earrings measure 1 1/8 X 1 inch.

The condition is very good.  

D&E aka Juliana Blue Oval Bracelet, Necklace D&E aka Juliana Bracelet and Necklace have been verified as being made by DeLIZZA and ELSTER.

The bracelt has 5 faceted blue ovals set in white metal with 5 links and the etched clasp. The ovals are in the major links and the joining links are a white metal flower with a light blue chaton set for the center.

The bracelet measures 7 inches X 3/4 inches.

Necklace has 4 links with the same pattern as the bracelet. The chain is white metal links with a hook at one end and just chain at the other. There should be a white metal ball at the end of this chain but it is missing.

The necklace measures 15 inches. All blue ovals are unfoiled, set open back and prong set. The condition is very good  

D&E aka Juliana Pink,Light Pink, AB Demi D&E aka Juliana demi has a bracelet, dangle earrings, earrings and a brooch.

Brooch has a lower level of pink chatons and medium pink navettes. Top level has 3 loops of pink chatons, skinny navettes in medium pink and 3 balls encrusted with ab chatons. There are also ab chatons set between the navettes. Brooch measures 1 3/4 inches.

Dangle earrings repeat the pattern of the brooch and have 3 pink chaton chains that end with pink navettes. Earrings measure 2 3/4 X 3/4 inches.

The clip earrings repeat the pattern of the brooch. These earrings are 1 1/2 X 3/4 inches and run up the ear.

Bracelet has 5 links, safety chain and etched clasp. Links on the bracelet repeat the design of the brooch and earrings.
Bracelet measures 7 1/4 X 3/4 inches

All stones are prong set except the balls and they are glued. This set has been verified as being produced by DeLizza and Elster.

D&E aka Juliana Blue Flower Demi RARE D&E aka Juliana demi parure has a 5 link bracelet and matching necklace.

NECKLACE has blue chatons set in the chain ending with a hook on one side and a larger chaton on the other side.

Necklace measures 16 inches and the design is in the center 6 inches. Design has two half flowers one on each side of a full flower in the center. Navettes are used to create the flower design and chatons accent the design. Set on each half flower there is a florette of clear chaton leaves and a blue chaton for the center.

Center design has 3 of the set over flowers.

All stones are prong set and the condition is very good.

BRACELET measures 7 1/4 X 1 inch and has 5 links, etched clasp and a safety chain.

Major links are set with 4 navettes with small blue chaotns on the outside of 2 of the navettes. The center has the over set florette. Joining links are set with one blue chaton.

The metal is rhodium and the conditon of both pieces is very good.  

D and E aka Juliana Frosted Grey, Clear Demi D&E aka Juliana demi parure has a brooch and clip earrings.

The brooch is in the shape of a leaf using frosted clear and frosted grey navettes. There are grey chatons and aurora borealis chatons used for accent.

The earrings repeat the pattern of the brooch. Brooch measures 1 1/4 X 3 1/2 inches and the earrings are 1 3/8 X 1/2 inches.

All stones are prong set and the condition is very good. The stones in the stem of the leaf are glued not prong set.  

D&E aka Juliana Tapered Baguette Demi Parure
D&E aka Juliana 5 link bracelet has the etched clasp and 5 links that are associated with D&E bracelets.

Metal is silver color and the bracelet was made without the safety chain.

Major links are set with 2 tapered baguettes and they are facing oposite directions. One side has a pale blue chaton.

Joining links are set with one opaque blue cabachon.

Bracelet measures 7 3/8 X 3/4 inches.

EARRINGS are clip and have 3 tapered baguettes, one opaque blue cabachon and 3 pale blue chatons.

Earrings measure 1 1/2 X 3/4.

The tapered baguettes are unfoiled and set open back. All stones are prong set and the condition is very good.
