Pencil dates from 1870-80 and is goldfilled with black inserts. This pencil opens by twisting and has a loop for a chain. The black insert may be enamel but it feels soft so may be some other material. The pencil closed measures 3 1/2 inches and open is 4 3/8 inches. The black inserts have a design and the condition of the pencil is excellent. There are 2 pictures.
